December 19

Its Christmas week Yay i bet your all super excited for santa to come... he's a real person you know so you better be good! As you all know from my last email that im training a new missionary. His name is Elder Sitake and he is straight from Tonga. So yeah you could say its pretty hard to train him because he doesn't know very much english and his lifestyle is way different then mine. pretty much everything that i own out here is not mine. its mine and his. thats the Tongan way of life yeah. its going to be a hard 12 weeks but you know what i'll be fine. with the lord anything is possible. so keep me in your prayers. so is everyone super excited for christmas this year! i hope you asked santa for some pretty cool stuff. im not gonna lie once you get older... like me cause im pretty fetching old haha, presents dont really seem to matter anymore. it still doesnt feel like christmas here because there is no snow! but thats ok it doesnt really sound like you have very much snow there either. hey ive been getting all of your christmas cards and presents. Thank you everyone for those. i loved the ties becky and i loved the christmas card of dad.. that was really funny. Anyways i don't have a whole lot of time left but i'll be giving mom a short five minute call later this week to let her know when i'll be calling home on sunday. so make sure to get your booty over to the house if you want to talk to me ok!!!!! I love all of you and miss you tons this Christmas season and i hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas Holiday. Loves you all! Mele Kalikimaka and Aloha!!!!!

ALOHA EVERYBODY!!!!1

ok so pretty much i dont have alot of time so imma make this brief. first of congrats to my awesome sister lani who is probably having her baby right now or she probably already had it..... feel free to name it after me, just sayin. but anyways this week was a really good week. we were able to teach a bunch of lessons and commited a family to baptism so pray for them ok. so lets get down to business... my ward misson leader is coming to utah this week and his gonna go see the family. if anyone has things that they'd like to send me( letter, pictures $$$ so i can buy a ukalala haha, anything really) he said that he would bring it back to hawaii with him! so if you wanna send something please take it to mom at the house and im sure she'll put it in a box or something. make sure you get it there by wednesday because i think he's leaving on thursday. but guess what..... its almost thanksgiving. we have three differnt families that we are invited to so remember how i lost ten pounds and im looking extra sexy... yeah that probably going to be not true by thursday haha! good thing im in a walking area so i'll be able to walk it all off the next day. Shout out to my boy Jax who should be getting his mission call this wednesday. im so stoked for you buddy and i'll be expecting a letter or email from you telling me where your going. anyways im pretty much outta time and im sorry this weeks letter is so short and next weeks will be better i promise. Remember the church is true and we are all missionaries, share your testimony or anything about the gospel when ever you get the chance to. you never know how far its going to go. I love all of you guys and i miss all of you so much. remember to keep writting. i love getting the mail! love you!!!!

ALLLLOOOOOHHAAAA!!!!!!

How's my awesome family and friends doing. i hope everything is going well. i keep hearing that it is snowing over there in utah and im really jealous :( man i love the snow. dont get me wrong im loving summer time over here. its gonna be summer for the next to years yeah! we're starting to get into the rainy season here so it rains on us almost every day. its not to heavy of a rain though. its only been way rainy a couple of times and i was drenched but when all the old aunties and uncles see young people walking around without rain coats they pretty much have to let you into there home. so theres plenty of good teaching opportunities when it rains haha! OK so now its time for the story of the week.

So i don't know if i told you all this or if i only wrote it in my journal. but there is this couple in our ward and there name is the Miyashrios. they are so cool and they have us over for dinner every week. Bro Miyashiro is the Organist for our ward...but get this he's blind. he is probably the best piano player i've ever seen and it blows my mind. anyways thats besides the point. so The Miyashiros grandaughters are lesss active girls. there names are Shantel and Shalay. one day they told there grandparents that they wanted to get active again. so they invited us over for dinner one night when there grandaughters were home. Shantel has a boyfriend named Ernie who isn't a member. so we started to teach them the discussions and we only got as far the Restoration because the next week Ernie was flying to Italy until July because he is Friggin amazing at volleyball and he was gonna play on a team over there. i was so bumed when i found this out. i really wanted to teach them. i could see Ernies desire to Learn more about the church and Shantels and Shalays desire to come back to church. anyways so we only got to meet with them about three teimes until Ernie left. so Ernie was in Italy for about a week and yesterday at church we found out that he decided to move back here and that he felt like thats not where he needed to be right now. YEAH BUDDY. i was so stoked when i found this out. that means that we get to teach Ernie the rest of the Discussions and hopefully get him Baptized. I have some really high hopes for Ernie Shantel and Shalay so hopefully we'll see some miracles.... The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways and i LOVE it haha!  Anyways thats the cool story for this week.

Oh yeah im happy to tell you all that I've Lost 10 pounds since ive been out here and my pants are getting big haha. im gonna try to keep shedding the weight but who knows whats gonna happen if i go to a samoan or tongan ward and when i go to a car area. anyways im looking super sexy! just so you all know. OH and im getting pretty good at the Ukalala... im not sure how to spell it but it is a good guess. but anyways, im outta time but i hope everything is going well back at home with everyone! i love all you guys keep writting me OK!!!!

LOVE YOU,

Aloha from Hawaii!!

Aloha Everyone.

Can you all believe ive already been out for a whole transfer.... Crazy Huh!!!! anyways im loving the mission. ive had so many great experiences and ive already grown so much and its already been about three months. imagine what its going to be like after two years. The mission is probably one of the best decisons i have made and probably will ever make in my life! anyways lets see.. .what story do i  have for this week. lets do a crazy story..

So we were on exchanges this week and i went over into another missionaries area... it was really ghetto. the place we were at is called KPT. so while we were walking around there we ran into two ladies who had locked there keys in there car. so us being the awesome missionaries that we are decided to use the old hanger trick and unlock there car .they were so happy that we did it for them...... and then guess what happened. they kissed my companion on the mouth... it all happened so fast and neither of us knew what happend. i was like a little school boy and i started to giggle a little bit and then we both just turned around and ran. it was so weird and we didnt know what to do. but luckily we just turned around and ran cause it was no bueno. anyways thats probably one of the craziest things that has happend to me so far and that will probably happen while im here.

ooooppps i accidentally sent the last email without finishing. anyways i love all of you guys and i hope everything is going extra good back on the mainland. i think about all of you and pray for you everyday. I love you and ALLLOOOOOOOOHAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aloha Everybody!!!!!!

first off i want all of you to know that yesterday for dinner we had salmon.... this is the first day that we have had sea food since ive been out on the mish. you'll be happy to know that i thought it was delicious. sea food out here does not taste like sea food on the mainland. it doesnt have that nasty fishy taste. but i was pretty proud of myself for eating it Yay me hahaha. but anyways i don't have a whole ton of time so i'll let you all know a little bit that has happened this week. so first off it was kind of a slow week which was lame, actually it was slow for work but the week just zipped by. i cant belive im almost two months in the mission. but anyways. we had two investigators drop us which was super lame. but to balance that out we are teaching two people who i have some high hopes for. the first one his name is Stanely. Stanley  is a 50 year old guy. my companion doesnt like teaching him because he thinks he is stupid. that made me kind of upset and i let him know how i felt. i told him that even though he isnt very smart he is still one of gods childern and deserves the same chance to hear the gospel just like anyone else. my companion still didn't really care so now when i teach him i have to go on an exchange with another missonary. but i have to teach stanley very slow. its hard for him to understand things but in the last three times that we have taught him he's been progressing so thats good. another person we are teaching is duke. duke is the father of 2 and his wife doesnt really seem interested in the gospel. but yesterday we got an unexpected phone call from him and he told us that he read the first couple chapters of the book of mormon and prayed about it. he knows its true!!!! so that made me super excited. we are going to teach him tomorrow so i'll let you know how that goes. but thats pretty much all thats happend this week. sorry i don't have time to write more but i'll do the best i can in later letters. i love all of you keep writting me and sending letters. Mahalo!!!!

ALOHA!!!!!!!!

guys can you believe it. ive almost been out here on the islands for about a month. everything here is great. more and more it kinda reminds me of being at home in salt lake because of all the tall buildings and all the busy cars. so hopefully after this area i get transfered to somewhere that as a little bit more of a hawaii feel haha. but this week hasn't been too eventful. one of our investigators dropped us because the house she lives at the owner wont allow us to come over and visit with her. we tried to see if we could visit with her at a park our at the chapel but she just wouldn't do it which was super lame. hopefully she can realize how important the gospel is in our lives and how we really need it. But we have a couple other investigators we are visiting and they have so much potential but its hard to meet with them because they are always so busy. we gave them all reminders saturday about church but no one showed up BOO  on that. but we did have a recent convert who got baptized about two months ago come to church and she brought her kids her husband and some extended family so that was really good. but other than that nothing too exciting has happened. oh i got to go to pearl harbor on wednesday and that was way cool. we did some service over there and then we got a tour. it was awesome. but thats all i have for all of you today sorry this one isn't as long but i love all of you and i hope everyone is doing ok!!!!!

Aloha Everyone!!!!!

(This letter was sent home on October 4th, but I just got it tonight.  Sorry it's late getting posted.)

i hit my one month mark a couple of days ago so YAY ME!!!! but anyways everything is going really good out here. its nice and hot and im getting lots of excercise since we walk every where. so we are still continuing and doing all that we can to teach. we have a big pool of investigators but the only problem is  that it is hard to catch them at home for a follow up appointment so thats kind of a bummer but we will do all that we can to meet with them. there's a guy here that lives across the street from our pad (apartment) and he's really cool. he's not a member though. he got ex communicated from the church and when he told us about it all he said was that he did some crazy stupid stuff. but he reminds me alot of jeff so i love going over there to talk to him. his name is robert and he's way funny. him and jeff have that same loving friendly personality which i love. so yeah it makes it nice and kinda comforting when we go over. we go over and we read the Book of Mormon with him and his wife who isn't a member either but they say they love it when we come over and read with them.....you can't complain about that. every time we talk to him though he's smoking a cigarette or drinking his beer. but thats totally fine he's a way cool guy and we can't complain about going over every sunday to share a short message. haha last night i told him i worked at a ski shop and he got all excitied because his son designs t shirts and has a t shirt company out here. so he asked me if i could take some home with me when i leave and i told him that i would and show them to ski n see. so he went and grabbed the shirts. lets just say they are not missionary approved at all haha. there were a couple of shirts that were bad but the rest im gonna have to find some way to get rid of them. but yeah thats just one of the guys that i've met out here. oh i met Aunt Karyn(tyson's mom) i met her mom and dad. they go to the same ward building as i do so i get to see them every sunday. also the resturant in bountiful called Mo Betta's. there is a guy that just moved out of the ward that im serving at who owns that. so if you ever decide to go there tell him you know a missionary serving in the Lanakila ward back in Hawaii!!! i forget his name though so just tell everyone there haha. we got to go to the temple this week because of conference. it was so pretty. especially the drive over there. its right by the beach and it is beautiful. there were lots of cool mountains too. it was the Hawaii that you imagine in movies. and we also got to watch conference. it showed temple square and the conference center and the temple and it made me kinda miss back home. salt lake and bountiful are the Bee's Knee's the Cats Pajamas. i love it there. but here is nice too. but yeah id say overall this week has gone pretty well. but im outta time but mom since i know your reading this can you send me that book with everyones birthdays in. that'd be nice. but i love you mom and dad and everyone else reading this letter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARA! I HOPE IT WAS AWESOME!!!! oh and dane, whit, and jax, someone send me mama and papa kellers email address i wanna email them too!!!!! I love all you guys! ALOHA!!!!!

I Made It!!

Aloha My Family and Friends!!!!! ive made it to hawaii and its very warm and humid here. my very first area that i am in is called Hon- West. its kind of in the city in honolulu. but the ghetto part of the city haha. but anyways my trainers name is elder garcia. he's kind of a goofy kid and we have completely different personalities but thats ok we get along pretty well. i met my new ward and they are all really loving people. they love to feed us. i had squid the other day and i almost threw it up haha. but it kinda makes it feel like home when i go to church everyone there is so nice.  one of the elderly sisters in the ward reminds me of aunt kit. but anyways everything is going well and im in a walking area that has lots of hills so im hoping to shed a few pounds haha. we have a few investigators that we are teaching and they both have baptism dates so hopefully they can keep those. but we are going to continue teaching and see where that goes. if any of you guys feel the need you should definetly send some paper mail because i havent gotten any of that all week haha. but if you have the time to it would be very much appriciated. make sure you dont send it to the mtc though. my address is 1500 S. Beretania Street Ste 416. HI, Hon 96826. double check the zip code cause im not sure if thats right. but the address is also on my facebook and blog. and margo has the address to but yah if you have time you should totally send paper mail. if you right on dearelder.com send it to the above address. that works too and we can count that as paper mail. but anyways thats all i have time to write today but i love and miss all of you reading this letter. stay in touch...... oh yeah i forgot to say that im not used to the time difference yet. we're four hours behind all you guys haha!!!!!

ALOHA ALL MY WONDERFUL OHANA!!!!!!

Guess what today is the last letter that i'll be writting from the mtc. yeah im pretty stoked about that. I'll be in hawaii tomorrow!!!! YEAH BUDDY!!!! any ways i've had such an amazing experience here. so just a couple of things before my time is up on here. first..... our second lesson with Judy was money. she told us that here and her husband did what we asked and they attended church on sunday. when we visited with her. there was just kinda a glow to her. she seemed so happy. she is reading the scriptures again and praying every night and morning with her husband. we taught her about the plan of salvation and everything went great. im kinda bummed that was the last time we got to teach her cause we really made a connection with her, and im sure we will with all our investigators. she told us that she would continue to read, pray and going back to church and that her main goal was that she was going to be sealed to her family in the temple.... is that awesome, i think so!

So another investigator we had his name was Junichi.. he was very very asian might i add. so the first time we taught him it was so hard cause he didn't even know about god cause he was part of the Shin Tu religion. so the first time we met we tried to teach him about god and a little bit about the restoration of the church. he wasnt interested and kept telling us all about his religion. but we did get a return appointment. so the second meeting we had we taught him more about the restoration and he seemed kinda interested so we felt like we were getting somewhere. we kept trying to get him to pray with for us but he just wouldn't. so we continued to pray. The third lesson he told us that he felt really comfortable with us and that he felt as if he could trust us.... which was a good thing. he started to be a little bit more receptive to what we were talking about but still didnt show a whole ton of interest. So on  our last visit was really when it started to get awesome.  so before we got there me and my companion were talking about how frustrated we had been with him and that he just isn't listening to anything we are saying so we said a prayer that Junichi would especially feel the spirit today and his heart would be softened. so when we got there we talked for a bit. and he asked us if we would pray. so we did and at the end of the pray he told us that he had been reading and that he prayed and he knew what we were telling him was true. and he then said i know this is our last visit but you two have been such a great example to me and im going to keep praying and reading and do all that i can to come closer to god. it was awesome and he prayed at the end of the lesson in chinese. so cool!!!

Anyways thats all the time i have today but i'lll write when i get to hawaii. oh dont send anymore packages or letters to the mtc. send them to the mission home in hawaii until i get a new address. i love all of you BYE!!!!!!!

OHANA

Aloha family!

so tomorrow only one more week here in the mtc. its been awesome but im super excited to get to hawaii. I've learned so much here and the spirtit is so strong. so like two weeks ago we had this thing called TRC. its where we teach people who sign up to be fake members but sometimes they really are in active members or not members at all. So anyways me and my awesome companion elder melville were assinged to teach an in active member named judy. she was really inactiver so we were kinda nervous. so we went in planning on teaching her the first lesson and one thing ive learned out here is that sometimes you go in  there teaching one thing and then it can change. so we got in there and started talking to her and just kinda listening to her and i got the feelilng that we should teach her about the blessings that come reading the book of mormon praying and excersing your faith. The spirit was so strong and my companion resited the first vision to her and we all just started to cry. ive never felt the spirtit as strongly as i did at that time. it was awesome. we commited or invited her to come to church with us read and pray about the book of mormon and she did. it was so cool. So then me and Elder Melville left and we just went somewhere quite outside to study and we both got the feeling that we should teach her more about the plan of salvation....i say more cause she is an inactive member and she already new a little about it. not even five minutes later she somehow found us outside and asked us if we could teach her about the plan of salvation. it was awesome. so we get to teach her on tuesday and hopefully things go well. Anywayss guess who got made ZONE LEADER!!! you guessed it, me and my boy elder melville. i was so surprised and its just for a week but it feels really good. lets see...... oh my best friend sam came into the MTC this week and he's in my district and in my resident hall so thats been really cool! i dont know what else to really say. i love it here i think ive probably gained like ten pounds and i finally got leid hahaha. but i guess we'll get a ton of lei's when we get off the flight. well i love all of you and i miss you all. keep writting and i'll keep sending paper mail. alex lani sara marcus i still havent heard from you so step up your game!!!!

I LOVE MY OHANA!!!

First Letter Home!

Aloha Family

So i miss you guys. im doing one super big letter because i dont have a ton of time to write but i made it through the first day here. it really isnt as bad as i thought. everyone here is super nice and so welcoming. and the spirit here is so strong. So my companion elder melville is super cool. it makes things alot better i think to have someone here you can talk to. ive already learned so much here in this past week. probably way more than i think i did in all four years of seminary. you guys should all write me though cause its been a week and  i only got one letter. it wasnt even from someone in the family. haha so get to work guys. Margo can you make sure people know they can write me on dearelder.com. thats probably the easiest way while im here in the mtc unless they want to send packages. all they have to do is type in my address and write the letter. it gets here the same day they write the letter too. dont have a lot of time to write but im sure i'll have more later this week. send letters guys i'd love to here from you. oh and pictures would be awesome so i can show off how cool my family is!!!! But until next time i love and miss all of you

MTC..Here I Come!!

Chancy entered the MTC on Wednesday, August 31st.  The whole "dropping off" experience has changed since the rest of the Wilson Crew were missionaries.  Now, you wait in your car until it's your turn to "drop off" your missionary.  There is another full-time missionary waiting at the curb to be the escort, help with luggage and take you where you are supposed to go for orientation.

When they pulled up to the curb, they were met by Chancy's escort-his childhood friend, Ian Cooper.  I'm sure it was nice to be greeted by a familiar face!

Chancy wrote a brief letter to his mother.  It said that the MTC was OK but he was ready to leave and to get on to Hawaii.  Big surprise!

Getting ready to go.

On August 16th, Chancy went to the Bountiful Temple to receive his endowments, in preparation for his mission.  He was there with his Mom, older brothers, Raymond, Boris (wife Kim), and Alex (wife Lani).  While there, Alex did the temple work for their brother, Jeff, who passed away a year ago.
